As part of a PhD project in collaboration with the British Beet Research Organisation we are trying to find out more about leaf mining flies that infest sugar beet as we need to know more about their ecology in order to manage them sustainably. These flies also infest Swiss chard, beetroot and spinach. We are looking for people to send in samples of leaf miner from their gardens or allotments that are infesting their Swiss chard, beetroot or spinach from as any locations as possible.
