Let your MP know what your plot means to you

We are in dialogue with the Cabinet Office and also the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities who have within their remit allotments and local councils. We are emphasising the importance of allotments and the need to keep them functioning during this difficult period. We are encouraging plot-holders .to support this campaign by writing to their MP about how allotments can contribute to the nation’s health and well being by supplying both food and opportunities to exercise whilst the lockdown continues.

NAS in the news –Week commencing the 5th April our representatives have been in touch with regional radio and newspapers;

• the Newcastle Journal ran a “Dig for Recovery” article, NAS member Harry James rightly claiming that if allotments are kept open the benefits will be awesome for us all.
• Two South West representatives spoke on local BBC radio about the vital role plots will play supporting mental health, providing gentle exercise and access to food.
