Derbyshire Dales District Council call for sites

Following a recent meeting of its Governance and Resources Committee Derbyshire Dales District Council is encouraging land owners to come forward with proposals for sites that could specifically be used for allotments. The Council recognises the health and social benefits that can be provided by allotments and this call follows concerns that have been expressed about the potential loss of allotment sites and a general shortage of plots within the district.

Any sites submitted during this ‘call for sites’ will be assessed to consider whether they are suitable for this use. The Council is keen to help bring more allotment sites forward and any sites that are capable of being delivered may be allocated within the Local Plan.

Anyone wishing to put forward a potential site for development as allotments can complete the Call for Sites Suggestion Form. Please note that this ‘call for sites’ is open from 22 November to 31 December and that anyone wishing to submit a site will need to be able to confirm that they either own the land or have the permission of the land owner to put the site forward.
