Feedback from National Allotment Society member allotment sites has revealed a pressing need for training of those volunteers who work hard to maintain allotment sites in a safe and productive condition. As a result, we have now teamed up with Lantra, a leading awarding body for land-based and environmental training courses and qualifications to offer specialised training for allotment holders.
By working with Lantra training the Society will be able to provide courses using Lantra expertise. Both face to face and E-learning accredited courses will be available across our 11 Regions and there will be substantial discounts for our members. The courses will be delivered via a nationwide network of expert providers, instructors and assessors, all of whom are quality assured.
We are launching in March and further information and dates will be released then. The first course will be "Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal Rodents"
We anticipate that the fee for this course will be £145 for members and £195 for non-members which includes a work book and certificate.
