Leicestershire County Council  are currently in the process of carrying out a campaign to recruit Master Composter volunteers.

The role of a Master Composter is to:

  • raise awareness of the benefits of composting to the community
  • become an expert at composting, reduce the amount of organic waste that goes to landfill
  • encourage people to compost at home and help people who compost at home already
  • free training will be provided,  will learn new skills and build confidence
  • and this only takes 30 hours of volunteering each year
