First ever National Allotment Society holiday

A special interest guided tour of the beautiful island of Sri Lanka scheduled for November 2018

 

We have organised a gentle paced holiday to allow everyone to fully appreciate all aspects of the vibrant culture and landscape of this tropical island.

Many vegetables we grow at home are also cultivated in Sri Lanka and you will be able to witness this, additionally, we will visit a tea plantation, the Coconut Research Institute and a fascinating discussion and lecture from the Agricultural department of the University of Kandy.

The magnificent Botanical Gardens in Kandy are packed with a wide range of spectacular plants which includes a most impressive variety of orchids.  In the evening the exotic and colourful Kandyian dancing is not to be missed.

Wildlife is everywhere and those with an urge to see elephants, a multitude of colourful gardens also with luck a leopard , will be captivated by a visit to Yala National Park.

We conclude the tour with some time on a tropical beach resort before returning to the UK.

The special price includes the cost of very good accommodation and all meals throughout the trip.

The tour price will be £1200 per person for a double room with a single supplement of £400. 12 day tour, International flights are extra.
